We are halfway through Lockdown 2 already and this has most definitely been the year of loungewear. In fact during Lockdown 1 sales of loungewear surged by 49%!! However, I believe that we can be comfortable and stylish so I thought a loungewear edit including some of my favs could be really helpful right now.
1. Is the Me + Em Cashmere jumpsuit which I am seen wearing in the main picture for this blog. It’s a bit of an investment at £425 but I have to say it is probably the most comfortable (and warm) item of clothing I own. So if you feel like treating yourself then this would be my recommendation. It keeps it’s shape and I love the clever design features such as the cuffed legs, the drawstring waist and the stripes on the collar. Just add trainers, a jacket and go.
These trousers from Me + Em (I make no apologies for including Me + Em more than once as they completely nail stylish loungewear in my opinion) are perfection. I love everything about them which includes the smart pinstripe fabric, the side stripe and the thick cuff at the bottom of the leg.
These faux leather leggings are amazing. I absolutely love them and think that they are very good value for money and are so versatile. I have them on here with an oversized hoody but they could also be worn with a plain white shirt and a oversized jacket, as well as be dressed up and worn with heels. They feel like real leather but sculpt you and hold you in to create long and lean legs. They are also incredibly comfortable. I could not recommend these more.
There are a couple of things that I really like about these. The acid (worn) wash of them is really on trend at the moment and also the diamonte trim is just a little something that makes these more glam…which ticks a big box for me. Plus they are in the sale :).
More cashmere, but it is a real favourite of mine and this set has a sequin detail that I absolutely love. It’s the little details that make this much more stylish and glam. Get 10% discount using code SIGNUP10.
Knitted dresses are a real trend this A/W and there are lots to choose from. I have brought myself a few as I love that they are different from jeans and a jumper and I find them warm and comfortable…perfect for hanging about the house in. One of the myths about a knitted dress is that they are shapeless and cling. This is not the case so much any more as many have a shape cut into them which makes them more forgiving. I always wear mine with tights and I find that sculpts me underneath and creates a smooth line. This dress from H&M is a fab winter white colour and has a modern shape. Great price point too.
This hoodie from Arket has been a total staple for me over the last couple of months. I wear it with my faux leather leggings and I also wear it with my gym gear. It is warm, long, and really smart.
There is nothing better on a rainy cold day than wearing a chunky knit to keep you cosy and warm. It’s like giving yourself a big hug. I love this one from Mango for a couple of reasons, The colour is fab. Perfect for any spring seasons out there. But also the neckline with the zip is totally on trend at the moment. This design is very Isabel Marant toowhich is a bonus if you like her designs (like I do).
I really like this look of this from H&M. I think it could be so easy to throw on in the morning with an oversized hoodie on over the top and feel like you are making more of an effort than just joggers and a t-shirt. This is also £19.99 which is a fab price point. And if you are making time for a bit of yoga, it’s fab for that too.
Finally, another dress as I am all over a comfy long sleeve dress at the moment. I got this from Mango and it is more of a jersey knit rather than a wool knit so it is good for milder days with tights of course and I just layered my black oversized blazer jacket with it when I went out. Loved the seam detail creating the triangle in the centre and the slightly puffed sleeves.
I hope this gives you a few ideas of the things that I am loving at the moment which have the comfort factor but also allow you to feel stylish as well. I deliberately kept the jogger options to a minimum as I feel that loungewear is so much more than that.
