It’s that time of year when we can really get our glam on…not that I need any excuse to be honest. But this year, more than ever given the dire lockdown situation 12 months ago, I think we should be going all out this party season.
So to encourage and help I have put together an edit of my favourite sequin/sparkly items. Some are to buy, some preloved and some to rent. Let me know if you treat yourself to anything.
Jenny Packham Sequin Gown to rent at My Wardrobe from £160 for 4 days
First up is the dress I am wearing above. It’s a Jenny Packham number and is absolutely beautiful. Jenny Packham is well known for her stunning gowns and renting is a great way to wear designer without having to pay the price tag.

For me this is a very cute stand out number for any parties you may have in your diary. The fabric is soft (yes I have seen and felt it in real life) and I like the cut out sections on this dress…but I appreciate it won’t be for everyone. I would wardrobe this with black tights, heeled boot and a leather jacket.

Allsaints Sequin Embellished Jumpsuit £299
If you are not a dress person this jumpsuit is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. Sophisticated, chic and easy to style and wear. Love that it’s not sequin all over. The mix of textures adds to the appeal for me.

In the Mood for Love, Lime Cropped Sequin Top £395
A more expensive option but I absolutely love this top. The colour is SO vibrant and fun. Definitely not just for Christmas. And if you know me, a low open back is one of my favourite styles. I would wear this with a plan black pair of trousers and let the top do all the talking!

This dress is a total showstopper and I LOVE it. A £3,000 dress that you can rent for min 4 days at a cost of £188. Not only an incredible way to get that wow factor but great for the environment as well.

If you did not want to go fully sparkly, then a little cropped jacket is the perfect addition to your outfit. This one is pre-loved and a great price point. Plus you can be confident to know that no one else will have the same!!

There is something about a sequin and feather combo that really appeals to me. I think it is super cool and this is a real find as usually anything with feather on can be quite expensive. Pair this with a black silk shirt, boots and a leather jacket for a cool edgy look.

I don’t buy from Zara very much at all, but sometimes they do absolutely nail it like this dress which is 100% my style. Very cool and with all the Isabel Marant vibes due to the shoulder pads and the style and shape of it. I also like the fact that it is long sleeved and all about the legs :).
Love that you incorporated both high end and also affordable pieces. Something for everyone’s budget which you don’t always get with stylists.
Thanks so much for these suggestions. I was wondering how to play down a short gold sparkly dress and you’ve given me the idea to wear it with black tights, heeled boots and a leather jacket which will be perfect for the party season.
