Style & Nutrition…The Perfect Combo

Apologies for the lack of blog posts over the last week. A combination of having some major IT work done behind the scenes along with not enough hours in the day as meant the blog post I have been wanting to write has been delayed. I’ve actually sat down quite a few times and had some sort of distraction or another every time but I’m here now and have lots to tell you.

It feels like Fine Styling has gone to another level over the last few weeks.  I don’t know if it’s because I have been very busy with work and have met lots of new people recently all of whom have been super supportive of my business, or the fact that I have actually got someone working for Fine Styling (my very own IT support) which feels really grown up, but right now it’s like I’m just riding the best wave, and that the world is my oyster.  And the nicest thing is, I can’t actually remember ever really feeling like this before.  I’m even booking into Sep and have only a few dates left before the summer holidays which is crazy…but absolutely brilliant.

Style and Nutrition Workshop

So last week was the second Style and Nutrition workshop that I ran with my colleague and friend Jennie Gough. We ran the first one in January this year and we were super pleased with how it went so quickly booked the next date and had a group of 8 lovely ladies spend the day at my house to get some top tips on style and nutrition.

I love these workshop days because they give myself and Jennie and opportunity to really spoil our guests.  I think the idea of busy mums taking a day out of their busy schedule to spend some time focusing on themselves is really important. It’s so easy not to do that once we have children to think about, but I’m a firm believer that if we don’t look after ourselves then there is a risk that everything could fall down. Let’s face it, us mums tend to be the pillar in most families…and I sit here writing this with my 6 year old hanging off my arm as the perfect example.

During the day our guests learnt about the concept of a capsule wardrobe and how they could create that themselves, what a capsule wardrobe might look like and examples of seasonal trends, the importance of colour, and top tips on how to get some colour into their everyday wardrobe. On the nutrition side there were live demos and tastings of green smoothies and energy balls, along with tips to help with will power and an explanation on the importance of maintaining a constant blood sugar level throughout the day.

Even my doggy got involved, who is wearing the t-shirt due to an op the day before 🙂

We were also lucky enough to have Clair join us from Flashing Photography, ( to capture the day, which she did so beautifully. And leading on from the success of the local workshops we are now launching ourselves into the corporate world and hope to be able to deliver our package to businesses as part of employee wellness programmes, benefits or as a team building activity. We have created a website with all the info on so if you are interested in finding out more please take a look.

In other news, I’ve had the task this week of working out what to wear to an 80’s Eurovision themed party. Gulp…fancy dress and me don’t really go and my husband said that I just needed to get a grip and be prepared to look a bit ridiculous but I actually see it as a challenge to go with the theme but look ok, even a little bit glam if you know what I mean. I know I know, maybe he is right but that’s just me. I am however, very much looking forward to the party. I think it’s going to be lots of fun.  The people who are hosting are brilliant.

Weekly Outfits

And to finish off, here are a few outfit shots from this week so far.  I’m totally into wearing colours at the moment and my wardrobe is looking very rainbow like which makes me smile. Thank goodness the temp has got a bit warmer this week too.  I even went out today for the whole day without a jacket…unheard of, well this year at least.
