This month sees Fine Styling turn 9 years old! It feels surreal to think that my little styling business is almost a decade old. I remember so clearly how nervous I was about my decision to invest in the training. Not knowing if I was even any good at it, let alone if I could make a business out of it. It felt like a bit of a risk to be honest, but here I am...with a business that I love which has survived so much, not least a global pandemic.
There have been many many amazing moments in that time. Working with an ever growing selection of top fashion brands is always such a highlight for me. Given these types of collaboration seemed such a dream at the start, I still ping myself that I get to represent my favourite brands doing what I do.
I have also loved the all the opportunities to work in fashion presenting over the years. The most memorable was presenting Paul Costelloe at QVC. I have assisted Paul on many of his Fashion Week shows and so to represent him at QVC was another huge pick me moment. Best bit...probably getting to wear clothes designed by him :).
My corporate style keynote speeches and events have been a huge growth area in 2025, and I hope that 2026 will be more of the same. These bookings feel like a huge achievement as they are a completely different type of work for me. Standing up in front of a corporate audience is not for the faint hearted. But having done a few now I LOVE the thrill of it. It takes me totally out of my comfort zone and I makes me realise how much I have to share.
Colour has also been HUGE in 2025. What used to be just part of my wardrobe edit service, is now probably 40% of all the work I do. It's had a complete revival and I have found myself doing it is so many fun environments. Again this is such a great corporate entertaining option. Express colour whilst people network is a great combination and really creates a buzz. I see no slowing down of this yet either so look forward to more of this next year.
